ASA103 Basic Coastal Cruising:
Two day, all on-the-water, intermediate level sailing class. ASA103 provides training in how to sail to destinations. Students sail from the marina to the dam or the Lake House. Learn seamanship skills, tacking and jibing skills, sailboat gear and equipment, fire safety and use of extinguishers, docking into and out of a slip and alongside a dock, bow anchoring, reefing skills, more on sail trim, more navigation rules, more on knot tying, how to properly coil lines, how to fix winch overrides, basic navigation concepts, more sound signals, use of VHF radio, and heaving to in order to reef sails, do repairs, or have lunch.
Class size: 2-4 students.
Time: 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM both days.
Prerequisites: ASA101 or successful challenge of ASA101. See ASA101 Challenge Description on the Group Classes and Pay by Credit Card Page found under the Shop for Sailing Classes tab.
Minimum Age: 16 years old.
How to save money?
Bundle ASA103 with ASA101, and or bundle ASA103 with ASA102, and save 5% on both classes. Bundle ASA101, ASA102, and ASA103 and save 5% on all three classes.

Students should bring a bag lunch and water or soft drinks both days for lunch on board our yacht.
Students either commute daily to attend the class or stay in local Hotels and Restaurants in Beautiful Bucks County, PA.
